AMD Ryzen 5000G could land at a higher price
Official pricing is hardly seen in the first retailers’ listings.
Tom’s Hardware wrote a report on Ryzen 5000G series which is now appearing at first retailers. While the new APU series based on Zen3 “Cezanne” architecture has already been released, the launch for the DIY market has been officially delayed till August 5th. Back in June, AMD already revealed the official price for two out of three SKUs that will launch on this day.
AMD Ryzen 7 5700G which is an 8-core and 16-thread SKU with a boost up to 4.6 GHz will cost 359 USD. Unfortunately, this price is not reflected in any of the four retailer listings discovered by Tom’s Hardware. The processor will cost from 369 USD to 422 USD depending on the region. Meanwhile, the 6-core and 12-thread Ryzen 5 5600G with the official price of 259 USD is now listed with a price ranging from 272 to 303 USD. These prices do not account for VAT.
The early nature of these listings and the fact that not a single US store was included in this early roundup prevents us from saying that Ryzen 5000G series won’t be available at MSRP. It is simply too early to tell, however, the first listings do show a clear trend that they might cost anywhere from 10% up to 17% more than advertised.
