Full guide start to finish:

1. enter dev mode on xbox (if dev mode app doesnt work, go to settings->console info-> press in order LB, RB, LT, RT -> click on dev mode

(IF ALREADY COMPLETED, SKIP TO STEP 10 TO ADD GAMES)

2. go to dev mode app and press start -> manage dev storage -> adjust storage to compensate for game sizes (75gb or something large enough)

3. in dev mode app click on remote access settings -> under authentication click set username and password -> set up a user and pass (i.e. admin; 1234)

4. on the computer open chrome -> type "xbox:11443" in address bar

5. under my games and apps click "add"

6. upload retroarch and fileexplorer appx in this folder

7. on the xbox, go to dev app -> select "retroarch" under my games and apps -> press select and go to "view details" -> change it from "app" to "game"

8. go back to xbox home screen and open retroarch - > go to "online updater -> select "update assets" and "update core info files"

9. once everything is finished downloading and extracting, select "quit retroarch" at main screen and restart the app

(if retroarch menu doesn't have icons, just scroll to the right or left, the options are still there, you just cant see the icons)



(ADDING GAMES)

10. on the computer, go back to the xbox device portal (xbox:11443), Select "File explorer" on the left then click browse. Make note of the username and password that pops up

11. open file explorer and enter "\\xbox\DevelopmentFiles\WindowsApps\1e4cf179-f3c2-404f-b9f3-cb2070a5aad8_1.9.0.0_x64__y40c4e9z4d7dy" in the address bar. It will prompt you to enter the username and password from previous step

12. back up a directory and select the SECOND folder that is named "1e4cf179..." (there will be 2 of them)

13. right click and go to properties -> security -> "advanced" -> select "Users (XBOX/Users)" -> edit -> select "full control" -> apply

14. Now go back into the second "1e4cf179..." folder -> create new folder and name it "Roms" or "Games" or something

15. copy any games/roms into this folder

16. Load into retroarch -> select "load content" -> select the "S" drive -> "Program Files" -> "WindowsApps" -> the second "1e4cf179..." folder -> then select your "Games" or "Roms" folder (whatever you named it in previous step)

17. You can now select your game and then the corresponding retroarch core to play it.


(EXTRA STEPS FOR WII EMULATION)

18. On your PC, download the following file: https://www.mediafire.com/file/fj9q6f85b2ni2ou/All_Bios_For_Retroarch_%28updated_with_new_pcsx2_bios_and_ppsspp%29.7z/file

19. Extract the files to the "BIOS Retroarch" folder then open the folder and copy all of the files and folders and paste them into a new folder titled "system" (All lowercase)

20. Copy this "system" folder onto a flash drive

21. Plug the flash drive into the xbox and open the File Explorer app

22. Select "Removeable Storage Drive" and copy the "system" folder

23. Select "Isolated Storage", click on "packages" at the top, select the "1e4cf179..." folder, select "LocalState"

24. Scroll down to the bottom to find the "system" folder, delete this folder and then paste the other one you copied from your flash drive

25. Done. You should be able to play Wii games using the Dolphin core.


Notes: Be sure to configure the controls and change it from "retropad" to one of the "Wii-Mote" variations (whichever one you like, I use the Wiimote + classic controller since it is most similar to xbox controls)
If you get a black screen when launching the game, make sure your video driver is set to dx11 or dx12
