Intel Alder Lake-S early Q4 2021?
According to Wccftech Intel is now planning to launch its new 12th Gen Core series in November.It was previously rumored that we might see an announcement of the 12th Gen Core series already in September with the possible launch by the end of this year. It is now reported that the launch might actually happen in November. What this means is that Intel Alder Lake-S would arrive just 8 months after Rocket Lake-S, possibly the fastest architectural upgrade in Intel’s mainstream desktop history.
The series will utilize Intel’s Hybrid Technology which makes use of a combination of high-efficiency and high-performance cores. Such an approach has never been used in a desktop environment at such a scale. Not to mention, Alder Lake is Intel’s first 10nm desktop CPU. These are the most important changes to the Intel processor lineup, but they are not the only ones coming with Alder Lake.
The series will introduce the latest PCIe Gen5 as well as DDR5 and LPDDR5 memory technology support. Both are to be supported on the Intel platform sooner than AMD’s, or so it is expected as AMD has never confirmed when they should support these technologies.
There haven’t been any leaks with actual roadmaps of client CPUs. We did, however, see a workstation production schedule, which indicated that Intel has plans to start the mass production of Adler Lake CPUs in the third quarter. Internally Intel expects a 20% performance increase for single-threaded applications and up to the twice as good multi-threaded performance.
