Early data analysis from VN34 flight may be putting some of the speculation to rest.
Rumors that incorrect aircraft weight or other performance data may have been entered by the pilots do not appear to be supported by the available information so far.
ADS-B tracking data is not precise enough to provide a definitive performance analysis, but when compared with two previous flights, including one operated by the same aircraft, the takeoff appears to have been progressing normally up to around V1.
After that point, however, the aircraft's acceleration appears to have dropped dramatically. The data suggests it gained only around 20 knots while covering roughly 2 kilometers of runway before finally becoming airborne.
Interestingly, once in the air, the aircraft's performance appeared normal, and some indications were even slightly better than the previous flights.
That could suggest the problem was concentrated in the critical period between V1 and rotation, rather than continuing after takeoff.
One possible explanation being discussed is a braking or other ground-related issue, although nothing has been confirmed. Another possibility is that the crew managed to correct whatever was affecting the aircraft at the very last moment.
The data doesn't provide the answer yet, but it may help narrow down where investigators should be looking.
