MSI quietly releases GeForce RTX 3080 and RTX 3070 SUPRIM SE series​

MSI outs SE edition of the SUPRIM series.

The SE could stand for Second Edition or Slow Edition, because these cards are the slowest cards in the whole SUPRIM lineup. So far MSI has released RTX 3080 and RTX 3070 models, with no RTX 3090 in sight yet. Design-wise, these cards are identical to SUPRIM (X) model, with no changes to the backplate, or power delivery.



The main difference is hidden in the clock speed and power requirements. The RTX 3080 SUPRIM SE features three 8-pin power connectors. What might be surprising is that MSI did not modify the TDP for this variant, or any variant for that matter. All three SUPRIM cards have the same TDP of 370W.

The clock speeds, on the other hand, are much different. The RTX 3080 SUPRIM X has a boost clock of 1920 MHz, achievable through Dragon Center Center software. Out of the box, the card offers 1905 MHz. The SUPRIM SE has a 1770/1755 MHz boost respectively. A significant downgrade compared to the X variant.

The RTX 3070 SUPRIM SE has both reduced clock speed and TDP. The card has 240W TDP, just 20W higher than the reference design and 40W lower than SUPRIM X. The clock speed has been set 1785/1770 MHz, a marginal upgrade over reference 1725 MHz.

The SUPRIM SE cards do not appear on some regional MSI websites, which implies that the card might not be offered on all markets.

Sau pha “tự hủy”, NVIDIA lại bị nông dân đào coin vượt mặt, bẻ khóa RTX 3060 bằng thiết bị rẻ bèo​

Lời hứa của NVIDIA bảo vệ anh em gamer trước các coin thủ nghe chừng còn xa vời lắm.

Trước khi ra mắt RTX 3060, NVIDIA tuyên bố đây là chiếc card dành riêng cho game thủ. Bởi lẽ hãng đã can thiệp để các mẫu VGA này “giảm công lực đào coin” xuống chỉ còn một nửa, khiến các nông dân đào tiền ảo sẽ không mặn mà với RTX 3060.

Tuy nhiên, nói trước bước không qua. Cách đây ít hôm, NVIDIA bất ngờ… lỡ tay tung một bản driver beta, khiến RTX 3060 lại được mở khóa full hiệu năng đào coin. Đây được coi là một sai lầm chí mạng, bởi lẽ chiếc “chìa khóa” này đã được đăng lên mạng và trao tay cho những coin thủ thoải mái tải về từ nhiều nguồn. Song đó chưa phải là tất cả.

Mới đây, các nông dân cày tiền ảo lại phát hiện ra một giải pháp cực kỳ thông minh và hữu hiệu để giải quyết nhanh gọn lẹ vấn đề do NVIDIA tạo ra. Đặc biệt là nó chỉ tốn có chưa đầy 6 USD (150 nghìn VND) là chiếc RTX 3060 đã bị qua mặt.

Chả là driver beta của NVIDIA không được thông minh cho lắm, nó chỉ dò xem cổng xuất hình có đang được kết nối. Thực tế, nó không thể phân biệt được thứ đang kết nối với card có phải là một màn hình thực sự hay không.

Chính vì thế, các nông dân đào coin chỉ cần mua một cái đầu cắm HDMI dummy plug (giá rẻ nhất tầm 5,99 USD trên Amazon) là đủ để đánh lừa driver NVIDIA. Khiến nó nghĩ rằng card đang được kết nối với màn hình, nhưng trên thực tế thì không.

Một thành viên trên trang Quasar Zone vừa mới chứng minh được giải pháp này hữu hiệu đối với cấu hình 4 card RTX 3060 (4-way).

Mỗi chiếc card đều có hashrate khoảng 48 MH/s, và tổng cả 4 con là 192 MH/s. Những linh kiện còn lại cũng chả cần phải quá xịn xò. Như thanh niên này chỉ cần CPU Intel Pentium G3220 (2 nhân) từ đời Haswell và bo mạch chủ Gigabyte G1.Sniper 5 là đào ngon lành. Anh ta cũng xác nhận là bo mạch chủ Maximus VI Extreme cũng xài được luôn, vì nó đều có 4 khe PCIe 3.0 x16.

Vấn đề ở đây là driver beta kia yêu cầu chiếc card phải được kết nối với bo mạch chủ thông qua giao tiếp tối thiểu phải là PCIe 3.0 x8. Nghĩa là những chiếc riser PCIe x1 mà bạn hay thấy trong mấy dàn đào coin là vô dụng.

Do đó, muốn áp dụng cách này thì phải tìm được bo mạch chủ có số khe PCIe x16/x8 dư dả một chút, chứ còn mấy bo mạch chủ chuyên đào coin trang bị 1 đống khe PCIe x1 là thua rồi đó.

AIDA64 gets support for GeForce RTX 3050 (Ti) and Radeon RX 6600 (XT)​

AIDA64 supports upcoming graphics cards​

A new update to diagnostic and monitor tool AIDA64 brings support for multiple unreleased SKUs.

AIDA64 6.32.5659 Beta released yesterday received support for a long list of upcoming graphics cards. According to the changelog, the software will support Radeon RX 6700 non-XT as well as Radeon RX 6600 series, both the XT and non-XT variants. Interestingly the developer thinks that the RX 6600 series are based on Navi 23 GPU exclusively.

The changelog also appears to list support for various GeForce RTX 3050 series GPUs, both mobile and desktop. It would seem that these cards will all feature GA107 GPU. Furthermore, this version of the software also has RTX 3080 Ti support, but this is not actually the first time AIDA64 has received ‘GPU information’ for this SKU.

The GPU information which appears in the changelog is clearly based on the public PCI Device ID list, so it should not necessarily be treated as a confirmation of any of those SKUs. Neither NVIDIA nor AMD have confirmed launch dates for their mid-range/entry-level graphics cards.

Hiệu năng card NVIDIA RTX được tăng miễn phí 4,8% khi “song kiếm hợp bích” với CPU nhờ tính năng Resizable BAR.

Một thành viên trên diễn đàn Chiphell (Trung Quốc) vừa mới công bố kết quả so sánh hiệu năng của việc bật/tắt Resizable BAR đối với con card đầu bảng GeForce RTX 3090 của NVIDIA. Tuy chênh lệch không quá đáng kể nhưng cải thiện thì vẫn có cải thiện, và nó lại còn miễn phí nên tính ra để bật vẫn tốt hơn.

Dàn testbench bao gồm CPU AMD Ryzen 9 5950X, 32 GB RAM, GPU GeForce RTX 3090 Founders Edition, và xuất hình ở độ phân giải 4K (3840 x 2160). Hiện tại chỉ mới có một vài game hỗ trợ tính năng Resizable BAR với card Ampere mà thôi.


Theo bảng trên thì sau khi bật tính năng này, RTX 3090 tăng từ 1,2% đến 4,8% hiệu năng tùy game (trung bình là 3,2%), riêng một số game như Metro Exodus thì hiệu năng hầu như không khác biệt gì cả. Bạn nào chơi game ở độ phân giải thấp hơn, 1440p (2560 x 1440) hoặc 1080p (1920 x 1080), thì mức fps có thể chênh lệch nhiều hơn nữa vì lúc này GPU sẽ ít bị nghẽn cổ chai hơn.

NVIDIA có hứa hẹn là sẽ mang tính năng Resizable BAR lên tất cả card RTX 30-series, nhưng ngoại trừ RTX 3060 là có sẵn VBIOS tương thích thì những card RTX 30-series khác cần phải cập nhật VBIOS mới hợp tác được với Resizable BAR. Về khía cạnh nền tảng thì Resizable BAR hỗ trợ cả AMD lẫn Intel chipset 400 và 500 series. Về CPU thì chỉ có AMD Zen 3 và Intel Comet Lake trở lên là được hỗ trợ.
