Some people argue that financial incentive is the sole motivation behind people's hard work, with no other reasons driving their efforts. While I agree that money is the primary reason behind hard work, I believe there are other factors that motivate individuals to put in their best efforts.
Admittedly, financial necessity is a significant motivator for individuals to work hard. They need money to cover their basic expenses, such as paying bills, buying food and healthcare. Without adequate income, people would struggle to meet their basic needs. Furthermore, the fear of falling into poverty is also a powerful incentive to work diligently and strive for higher earnings. These reasons show that money is a strong motivation for many people
However, I believe that there are other motivations beyond money that make people work hard. Some people are passionate about their work and want to contribute to society. For example, in Vietnam, the salary of firefighters is relatively modest compared to other professions. Despite the financial limitations, many people choose this career. They are driven by their passion and a deep sense of duty and the fulfillment that comes from protecting and saving lives. Job security is another crucial motivator. In a volatile job market, the fear of losing one’s job can encourage employees to work harder; therefore, by performing excellently, people could increase job stability.
In conclusion, while I believe money is undoubtedly a primary motivator, there are also other factors, such as job security and passion combined with the desire to contribute to society, which drive people to work hard.
