Happy New Year! How’s your Tet going? It’s pretty quiet where I am. I just bought some Banh chung and visited the temple on New Year’s Eve. I talked bout it in my latest video—check it out! ☕

I'm studying English to improve my performance at work, but i haven't found effective way to improve my english skills yet. I spend a lot time to researching solutions online, but they don't seem to help much. so, could anyone give me some advice? Thanks

What English skills do you want to improve? My general answer: practice, practice and practice.

Trying to finish this book. So sleepy now.😴

It's a language. There's no way to get better other than using it a lot.
Learn grammar from books, read and listen to whatever interests you, and chat or talk with people online.

As a father of a son, from my perspective, I hope that my son will be hardworking, earn straight A's in all their exams, and eat the competition for breakfast

this statement isnt natural, like, there isnt really anything grammatically wrong with it, but people generally don’t go around saying stuff like this.

“as a father of a son… i hope that my son”
this is redundant. usually people just say, “as a father, i hope my son/daughter/children…” the phrase “of a son” adds no useful information unless contrast is intended

“from my perspective”
this is mainly used for opinions. for example, if someone asks what you think about children competing in an educational environment, you might say:
“from my perspective, competition in education is generally positive because it gives children more motivation to study harder and get ahead of the pack.”

think of “from my perspective” as basically meaning “i think.” also, in your sentence, “i hope” already shows it’s your personal view, so it’s even more unnecessary.

“eat the competition for breakfast”
this is usually used in a strongly competitive context, like business, sports, or passing a difficult subject, it is typically used when referring to something specific, not in a broad, general statement. For example, if someone asks, “Was the chemical exam earlier hard?” or “Can you beat Genichiro (Sekiro boss)?” you might say, “I eat those for breakfast.” indicating that those supposedly hard subjects are really easy for you (enough to be eaten every day for breakfast)

also, your original sentence has a pronoun mismatch: “my son” but “their exams.” it should be “his exams.”
so, something like this would be more natural
"As a father, i hope my son grows up to be hardworking, earns straight A’s in all his exams, and outperforms his peers."
or just simply
"As a father, i hope my son studies hard and does well in school."

Does anyone struggle to pronounce the word "specifically". I always cut the first s sound to make it easier but it feels wrong to do that

Yeah, it's wrong to do that. How are you pronouncing this word now? It should have 4 syllables and be around 4 times longer than a one-syllable word.

I personally struggle to pronounce the word specificity. The second c is pronounced s, which always throws me off.
