In your opinion, learn E by listening US - UK music can get better at English? Because I see that the lyrics song are often wrong grammar
I think the lyrics tend to fall in music writing style which mainly focus on meaning. In my point of view, the aspect that one can make the most of songs is vocabulary.

I just google the definition of morality and this is a search resulting: a particular system of values and principles of conduct, especially one held by a specified person or society.
Hmm, this is a double-edge sword, don't you think? Then stealing or murdering can also be of morality

this thread just popped up in Voz's new feed, nice place for talking bullshit without any "submarine". Just hope this place is not as toxic as the rest of this forum.

I just wonder that why do you want to get better at English? Just for communication or for some diploma, certificate,...? what make you think you are not getting better? Perhaps you do get better you just haven't realized it. If you want to improve your English just for communication, your English is perfectly fine imo.
Anyway I'm not that great at English to give advices, but maybe, just maybe you are forcing yourself too much on study English, to get better at English. In my opinion, English is just a language, just a tool to communicate. Maybe all you have to do is stop trying to forced it on yourself and just embrace it, use it as what it mean to be. Read your favorite book in English, watch movie in English, listen to podcast, or just watch some bullshit on youtube,... I'd only spent 4 years in high school to study grammar, since then all I do is use it as what it meant to be. But again it's just my opinion. Anyway good luck on your English my man.
Totally agree.
I believe in any works, one should embrace and enjoy them, other than setting up perfect plans and then torture himself for the ideal goal.

The very worst moment is when I randomly play an old song on my iPhone early of my work shift, and the screen pops up a artwork of my ex’s selfie. It fucking hurts also. Can’t concentrate on working anymore. So stupid I am...

Anyone here know of a Youtube channel that you guys enjoy watching and still somehow improve your english? I've tried a few ted talks but seem like they doesn't work for me, because its topics are too boring for me, and those video has a lot of academic vocabularies that I can't understand. Eventually I gave up after just a few videos :beat_brick:. But I believe that Youtube and social media are good environments to learn English if you know the way to utilize its contents. So let me know what's your favorite Youtube channel or other forums where you can use English? Here's mine:

Where am I in this game of chess? I thought I was the Knight but I'm only a Pawn. I want to be King but I failed again, again and yet again. Haiz, I'm tired, too tired.

Do you like fantasy movie/book dear friend?

I love watching review about my favorite movies/books, to see how others think about it, how they see it from their pov. Just go youtube type ".... movie/book review"
Western books/movies review channel is 100 times better than all those bullshit movie "review" from VN. I still don't know why they became so popular. Why does someone want to know the story of a movie at least 1h30m long to be told in 1m30s? And how come they call it "review" when they give no thought at all about the movie, all they do is telling the story in the worst way possible. It's a spit in the face of all the actors/actresses, director,... that worked so hard on that movie.

Thanks for your recommendation. I'll check it out. And about the "film review" that all appear everywhere on facebook or youtube, because people like it and watch it a lot. Think about a video that you don't need to put much time, effort in but still gains a million views regardless its bad quality, easy money. And the matter here is about the audience, they have no taste at all, they can spend hours surfing facebook video, and watch around 3 movies in 15 minutes. They don't give a shit about the story or characters. A review is for people who watched the movie, still has tons of questions and wants to learn more about it, about the hidden message from movie's director, about how good or bad the plot twist is...,not a summary.

I think it is difficult to become a King from a Pawn. But if you can go to the last line in the chess, your dream can go to truth and you need more help from others like Queen, Bishop, Knight, Castle. Oh wait, I remember that Pawn just become to a Queen if go to last line, never become King, King is unique

Maybe I'm not in that crowd. I have seen many times the film that I prefer in my free time. They are Godfather, 12 angry men, Shawshank Redemption, Saving Private Ryan, Forest Gump, Life is beautiful 1997. I get a lot of lessons from it. And the fucking truth, I haven't been to the cinema for six years because there is not the film I prefer, I am not a fan of fantasy film, superhero film. While it is top trend film at the moment.

Well I believe nowadays people ain't prefer those art house films anymore. You can see oscar best picture nominations hardly get in top 10 box office, even that you can't see one at the theatre in VN:(

I'm also not a fan of superhero movie (I still watch it when I want to relax and don't want to use my brain tho). But to me, fantasy movies/books is another thing. It's like an escape from our boring reality but also reflect the some aspects of our world/reality. And like all the movie you have mentioned, good fantasy books/movies can also make you stop to think, to actually understand the meaning the writers. Let's take LotR for example
"Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back only they didn't. They kept going. Because they were holding on to something"
"What are we holding on to, Sam?"
"That there's some good in this world, Mr. Frodo...and it's worth fighting for.”
Also one of my favorite quote from Malazan book of the fallen:
We humans do not understand compassion. In each moment of our lives, we betray it. Aye, we know of its worth, yet in knowing we then attach to it a value, we guard the giving of it, believing it must be earned. Compassion is priceless in the truest sense of the word. It must be given freely. In abundance.
In my opinion, fantasy hasn't been done its justice via movie (except for LotR, it was glorious lmao). And about fantasy is top trend, to me it never was top trend (how many fantasy movie that has actually gone viral?). I'm happy that it's starting to become popular, and I hope that one day some of my favorite book can become movie. But I really doubt it because one does not simply make a movie about high fantasy without billions of dollar.

I suddenly remembered that I have seen the film Journey to west, the film deep in many people's memory who was born in 8x or the first 9x, When I hear the melody of the film's song, I was lived again my childhood. Do you think it's a fantasy movie?
