The top Alchemist 512 EU (32 Xe Cores) variant is said to feature at least three configurations. The full die features 4096 cores, a 256-bit bus interface, and up to 16 GB GDDR6 memory featuring a 16 Gbps clock though 18 Gbps cannot be ruled out as per the rumor. Following are all the ARC 512 EU variants that we can expect based on the DG2-SOC1:
- 512 EU (4096 ALUs) / 16 GB @ Up To 18 Gbps / 256-bit / 225W (Desktops) & 120-150W (Laptops)
- 384 EU (3072 ALUs) / 12 GB @ Up To 16 Gbps / 192-bit / 150-200W (Desktops) & 80-120W (Laptops)
- 256 EU (2048 ALUs) / 8 GB @ Up To 16 Gbps / 128-bit / 60-80W (Laptops)
Important points.
13:30 talking about streaming, and what sounds like Intel's response to NVENC. But it kind of sounds like some features will be tied to also having an Intel CPU in your system at the same time. Probably related to the Intel Deep Link video from a few months ago.
22:20 ability to share your GPU with someone. Effectively turning your system into a cloud gaming machine for your friend. Not coming immediately, but maybe in next generation graphics.
25:00 talking about XeSS, and how the DP4a route really is tuned to be lower visual quality than the XMX version for ARC.
26:40 Talking about the stock situation. "The first range of alchemist GPUs will be manufactured at TSMC.". Personally I think that sounds like more ranges of Alchemist will come on Intel's own node, from their own fabs. (Maybe a 3090 ti competitor coming later?)
27:15 Raja making it sound like the shortages are far from over. Intel's goal is to get these cards into the hands of gamers. I know they all say that, but Intel has true incentive to mean it. They need data for driver support, and to get mindshare and a fanbase. An "install base". Not just gamers, but game developers need to have faith in Intel.
28:50 Intel will make something crypto mining oriented that won't be a typical GPU in the future. Something like an ASIC it sounds like. Hopefully making GPU mining obsolete once and far all.
30:15 multi-gpu talk. SLI replacement. Not for a long time it sounds like.
